This city with about 40.000 inhabitants is closely to the dutch border in the south oft he Niederrhein. With the Burg- and Kirchberg, on whichs park-plateau many events take place, Heinsberg is very popular with visitors of the Niederrhein. The Propstei, the Lennartzsche house and the Torbogenhaus are beautiful sights of the city centre of Heinsberg. Also the church St. Gangolf is a nice example of the rich and interesting history of this city at the Niederrhein.
